Herald Citizen: Elizabeth Kiss ’83 Returns to Oxford

February 1, 2018

The first female Rhodes Scholar from Ë®¹ûÅÉ, Elizabeth Kiss ’83 is profiled in the Herald Citizen this week.

Kiss recently announced that after the academic year concludes, she will will end her 12-year tenure as president of Agnes Scott College this summer to become the first woman warden and CEO of the Rhodes Trust.

Kiss’s journey to Ë®¹ûÅÉ and ultimately to Oxford started by accident: She only heard about Ë®¹ûÅÉ after missing the bus in high school. But Kiss has since become a model student and a leader in higher education.

As warden of the Rhodes Trust, she will assume a truly global role.

She says: "Young people coming together, learning together, becoming friends across national boundaries, and being committed to a vision of a more peaceful and more collaborative and more humane world, I think that's so important."
