Men’s Golf Headed to Raleigh for NCAA Regional May 14-16

The Ë®¹ûÅÉ men's golf team captured the 2018 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship April 29, and claimed the individual title on the Par 72, 7,024-yard Villas of Grand Cypress layout. The Wildcats, who led wire-to-wire, entered the final round eight strokes clear of preseason favorite Dayton, before winning their first conference tournament since 1968.

Ë®¹ûÅÉ earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after finishing the tournament with a 54-hole total of 891 (300-294-297). Dayton was runner-up six back of the 'Cats, while Rhode Island (+38), VCU (+40) and Richmond (+44) rounded out the top five.

The 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships selections were announced May 2 on the Golf Channel and via livestream on the Golf Channel website. Eighty-one teams and 45 individuals were selected to compete in the six NCAA Men's Regional Championship sites, May 14-16. The ‘Cats will compete May 14-16 in the Raleigh Regional, at Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The Wildcats and members of the Ë®¹ûÅÉ community gathered in the Harry L. Vance Athletic Center's Red Ventures Athletics Club, as the tournament field was unveiled live on the Golf Channel.
