Background
I am an economist with expertise in Labor Economics and Macroeconomics. I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University and currently serve as an Assistant Professor of Economics at 水果派 College.
My research integrates theory with computational and econometric methods to examine how institutional policies impact labor market outcomes and firm dynamics in developing countries. I focus on how labor protection affects the composition of formal employment and worker transitions in economies where formal and informal employment coexist. Recently, I have been exploring the effects of credit supply shocks and technological innovation on firms in Peru.
In addition to my academic work, I have substantial experience in both the private and public sectors in Peru. I have worked as an economist at Banco de Cr茅dito del Per煤, served as an Economic Advisor to the Minister of Economy and Finance, and led the Macroeconomic Forecasts Department at the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
My contributions have been recognized with several awards, including the first prize in the 2024 Inter-American Development Bank Young Economist Award for research on labor markets in Latin America and the Caribbean. I have also received the Teaching Fellowship Award at Yale University in 2021 and the Award for Best Practice of Public Service Code of Ethics in Peru in 2015 and 2016.
